His Majesty the King Bhumibol Adulyadej (King Rama IX of Thailand). He was born on Monday the 5th of December 1927, at Mount Auburn Hospital, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, U.S.A., being the third and youngest child of Their Royal Highnessws Prince and Princess Mahidol of Songkla. The full name of Nai Luang is “Pharbat Somdej Phra Paramindra Maha Bhumipol Adulydej Mahitalandhibet Pamadhibodi Chakrinarubodindara Sayamindaradhiraj Boromanatbophit”
Royal Projects
Over the past 60 years, Nai Luang has initiated, planned and monitored well over 4,000 Agricultural, health, scientific, environmental and social projects.
The Royal Development Projects can be classified as follows:
1. Projects initiated according to His Majesty’s wishes: Royal rain development of an atmospheric water source.
2. Royal Projects: Royal Chitralada Projects, Doikham, and Doitung.
3. Projects under Royal Patronage: Thai Encyclopedia Projects for youth, The Dictionary projects, The Din Caeng Cooperative Village, Development Project and Sai Jai Thai Fuondation.
4. Royal – Initiated Project: Chaipattana Foundation, Monkey’s cheek (Kaem-ling): royal flood management initiaties.
